Design and Construction of 140 m. Span Arch Bridge
Design and construction of bridges over wide rivers on hilly areas are challenging and exciting from different point of views. Construction of intermediate piers in the deep water rivers flowing with high speed is very difficult and in many cases not possible. This requires that the bridge should have very large mid-span, typically more than 100m. Most efficient bridge form in such cases is arches of various configurations. Amochu Bridge is one of such projects located on P’ling-Samtse highway which connects Samtse Dzongkhag with the rest of the Bhutan.
